This policy explains how the mobile game Word in Three ("the game") handles your information. The game is developed by Infinity Gaming and published by Iconix Solutions, Waterford, Ireland ("we", "us"). Contact: i.a2zsolutions@gmail.com.
1. Playing as a guest
You can play without an account. As a guest, your progress (unlocked levels, stars, best scores, boss progress, Word of the Day results, times and streak, Streak Shields, Gauntlet best, your word journal and settings) is stored only on your device. We do not receive it. Guests can view the Word of the Day leaderboard but do not appear on it.
2. Signing in with Google (optional)
If you choose "Continue with Google", we use Google Firebase Authentication to create your game account. We receive your Google account ID, name, email address and profile photo link. Your game progress is saved in Google Cloud Firestore so it can be restored on another device: unlocked levels, stars, best scores, boss progress, Word of the Day results, times and streak, Streak Shields, Gauntlet best, your word journal, settings, whether your subscriptions are active, and your display name. We never receive your Google password. Only you can access your saved progress.
3. Word of the Day leaderboard
When you are signed in and solve the Word of the Day, the game posts your result to a public leaderboard: your display name (your first name and the first letter of your last name, for example "Alex M."), the number of guesses, your solve time, the free Scout move you used, and the date. Anyone who opens the game can see the leaderboard for that day and the previous day. Your email address and profile photo are never shown. The players in the top 3 when the day ends at 00:00 UTC are listed as that day's winners. You can remove your entries by deleting your account (section 12).
4. Notifications
The game sends one kind of notification: if you finish in the top 3 of a Word of the Day, you are told when the day closes. It is only sent if you are signed in and allow notifications on Android 13 or later (on older Android versions you can turn notifications off in the system settings). To deliver it, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your device with your account. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings; signing out or deleting your account removes the token.
5. Advertising
The game is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob: a full-screen ad after each finished campaign level and each finished Gauntlet run, and an optional ad you can choose to watch for one extra guess. The Word of the Day shows no ads. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, device information and how you interact with ads, to show, measure and (with your consent) personalise ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. If you are in a US state with a privacy law, you can opt out of personalised ads (see section 14). You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings > Privacy & ad choices. If you do not consent or choose to opt out, you may still see non-personalised ads. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. More information: Google’s partner-site privacy information
6. Subscriptions
The game offers two optional subscriptions through Google Play: Remove Ads (a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it) removes the ads between levels; the optional extra-guess ad stays available. Unlock All Levels (a single payment for 4 months that does not renew) opens every campaign level while it is active. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your card or payment details; we only receive whether a subscription is active and until when, so the game can switch the benefit on or off.
7. Stars, clue cards and other in-game items
Stars, clue cards and Streak Shields are earned by playing. They cannot be bought with real money, have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged or transferred. The game has no in-game currency.
8. Sharing your Word of the Day result
If you tap Share, the game opens your phone's share menu with a short, spoiler-free text you can see before sending. The game does not send it anywhere itself, and we do not receive it.
9. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information for money. Showing personalised ads through Google may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some US state laws; you can opt out at any time (section 14). We do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools beyond the Google services described above. The game does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.
10. Summary of data

11. Legal bases (EEA and UK) and retention
We process account, progress, leaderboard and notification data to provide the game and features you asked for (performance of a contract), personalised advertising on the basis of your consent, and non-personalised advertising, security, cheat prevention and fraud prevention on the basis of our legitimate interests. Account data, cloud progress and leaderboard entries are kept until you delete your account. Guest progress stays on your device until you uninstall the game, clear its data or use Settings > Reset all progress. Google's retention of advertising data is described in Google’s privacy policy.
Where your data is stored: your cloud progress, leaderboard entries and messaging token are stored by Google Cloud Firestore in the European Union (multi-region "eur3": Belgium and the Netherlands). Firebase Authentication and Firebase Cloud Messaging are global Google services and may process data in the United States and other countries. The game is available worldwide; if you play from outside the EU (for example in the United States), your data is transferred to the EU and to Google's servers to provide the game. Where data leaves the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Google LLC is certified).
12. Deleting your account and data
In the game, open Settings > Account > Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, cloud progress and your leaderboard entries. You can also request deletion at https://infinitygaming.online/games/word-in-three/delete-account or by emailing i.a2zsolutions@gmail.com. Subscriptions belong to your Google Play account and are not cancelled by deleting your game account: cancel them in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions.
13. Your rights (EEA and UK)
You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at i.a2zsolutions@gmail.com. You may also complain to your data protection authority; in Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).
14. Your US privacy rights

You can also turn off ad personalisation in your Android settings (Settings > Google > Ads). We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

We may need to confirm your identity, for example by asking you to email us from the address of your Google account. An authorised agent may make a request for you with your written permission.
